Studley Park

Mixed media project

This is a fun first experiment in multimedia work. I frequently have lunch at Studley Park in Abbotsford. There are so many different kinds of birds every time, as it is next to Merri Creek/ Yarra Bend.

I recorded the bird’s song on 3 separate occasions. And while I was recording, I closed my eyes and tuned into all their different songs.

I also played with the recordings and made an ‘audio collage’, overlapping the different files into a single file that contains layers of bird songs, wind, and other sounds from the park to go along with the drawing. The idea is to give a snippet of a moment that goes beyond the visual.
