Guadalupe Nettel Mural
This is a piece that was part of a Street Art festival that takes place in my hometown, Queretaro. 100 women are selected to portray 100 inspiring and important female figures of history, politics, science and art.

The festival takes place throughout a week, and the street becomes alive with women from all ages, techniques and walks of life painting next to each other in the perimeter of the ‘Alameda’, the oldest central garden of the city.
This was my second year participating in this event, and I’ve met weavers, photographers and street artists. There was a lot of stories shared and we took care of each other, as the streets can be tricky, even in daytime, for women in Mexico.
That year I chose Guadalupe Nettel, one of my favourite contemporary writers. She talks about loss, grief and the body in a visceral and beautiful way. The second day I was painting the mural, my aunty, named Guadalupe too, passed away. I dedicated this mural to her.
